Okay, so I bought the game (retail, gold edition, Best Buy).

Okay, so I registered an account at Stardock.

Great, the validation e:mail sends me to a page to register my shiny new game.

Hmmmm...that page doesn't seem to want to take my serial number in either box. Oh well, probably something funky with the link. Let's exit out and login again. I'm sure there's some other way to register the game. I'll just browse around while looking for the patch(es) to download.

Hmmmm...nothing jumps out at me saying "download patch" or "how to register". Let's try the forums.

Hmmmm...why am I having trouble logging in from the main screen. Oh, well, I can do it from the forum page. I'm sure there are sticky to help noobies. Ah, there they are.

Hmmmm...well, not quite as helpful as I'd like. And what's this about a 28 character serial number, mine is 30 characters. And I'm still clueless as to how/where to download patches.

Now I'm sure it's there and painfully obvious. But I'm still unable to figure out how to register the game and how to download patches.

Could some kind soul give me little baby steps on these? Links are especially appreciated.
