from having money to no money at all

I have a question, however I don't know were to put this. But I was playing Galciv2 DL version 1.50 and I ended up in a war with Yor because my civ's military was lacking. During the conflict, the Altarians gave me two ships but did not check my treasury, and moved stuff and things, but then I got a message from the Drengin Empire saying there were giving me ships for my war against the Yor. and When I checked my treasury it was -238 and before that it was 1678 somewhere around there. and I did not buy there ships either just to point that out. and I was deficit spending of -16 bc during that turn as adjusted the spend slider as I was getting money

Well, there's a number of reasons your economy tanked, the most possible one is the maintenance fees you suddenly started paying for those gift ships.

Loss of trade routes, other races becoming more influential, factories coming online, etc, many other things could be the culprit, or, as is usual, different factors working together to send your bottom line into the red.

I would agree with you Popcorn Avenger, but I understand the economics quite well for this game, and to make matters worse I have been playing galciv for good amount of time. But to make sure if it was that, I play tested it through the same saved game of course the yor declared war and and recieved ships from two races still the Altarians, and then humans but ready for this, little more ships than would I got from the Drengins in the other game ind not frigates either, three battleships and a frigate, and I only got two frigates from the Drengin and a heavy fighter So sorry to say nope nope and nope but thank you for your response this happened early in the game bye the way. But given the circumstances I don't know what could have made the treasury negative in one turn, and my economy was alright. and I don't upgrade my ships

The economy is pretty spasmodic, in one game i played recently, i was making 5000bc a turn then war was declared. Upon war being declared I lost my trade routes which were worth 3000bc a turn. however my income was minus 1000bc a turn? Now i'm no genious at maths but i believe that 5000 minus 3000 = 2000 not minus 1000!?!?

No worries mate. I've seen the econ do weird things like Mystikmind describes also. Its like the stats charts - every now and again they bottom out, then next turn, zoom, back to where they should be. I've seen my econ go from a healthy bonus to -2K and I'm like WTH! Then a turn later, presto, back to "normal" . . and this weirdness is not even centered around a war. Go figure.

In that game i played where i lost the 3000bc to the phantom zone when war was declared, i had a nice fleet and lots of 'full' transports waiting, i wiped out 3 races in about five turns - gained about 30 worlds, then after about 30 odd turns later after i finished building stock markets in all but 5 of the 30 planets - i'm up to about 400bc a turn income.

I even gave the planet i was orriginally trading with to my ally, so that my freighters would run past all my economic starbases exactly as they did before the war. Still no sign of that 5000bc a turn i was making.

Oh well enough pondering about it. I have two saved game choices. lol

1. the easy route. Take my trying to find out the culprit save, were I get better ships and have more money or,

2. the hard one with no money and three weaker ships from other races.

take the second one. I am up and ready for the challenge. either way the Yor will be conquered through death and destrouction

Been playing it for a bit and managed to get my treasury to 2000bc and making a profit of 64 bc a week. I press the turn button still making a 64 bc but now it is down to 16 bc in the treasury. I decide to go a few turns and look at the graphs. I found something that is a bit worrying for me. at exactly at that same turn as mine goes down, a AI's treasury goes up.
