Hey! I've played about 10 games, most as Drengin since I like to conquer. I'm usually on Medium maps / Normal-Tough. I've noticed that unless you kick some butt fairly early, you will get ganged up on. In virtually every game, the Torians and Drath declare war on us poor Drengins quite early, and often the Iconians or Altarians join in. Even though I usually have one of the stronger civs, I'm in a constant battle against at least two civs at a time (sometimes four!!) and it wears me down slowly before I can get my civ cranked up. Also, though I would be open to alliances with either of the other baddies (the Yor or Korx or Thalans), they ALWAYS seem to be among the weaker civs and useless, and then get killed off themselves before I can ever team up with them.

I HAVE won most of these games, but only by building a strong military and preemptively blasting the Torians and Drath away fairly early. After that, the odds are ok. I'm usually strong enough to withstand a double attack from anyone later on.

Also, though I love to trade using freighters (the trade money is a lifesaver on a medium map with occasional planets), it is a waste half the time as the Council votes to limit trade routes to 2 for Evil races. I've taken to researching techs heavily and selling the non-military/non-diplomatic ones for cash to all the other civs. I rake in A LOT doing this.

Anyone else have any Drengin ideas?
