In the game manual it says that planet quality only affects the # usuable tiles on a planet and not it's population growth or max population. It says your max population is determined solely by having enough food to feed everyone with a static growth of .2 Million a week.
When I read this and went through the tutorial I was excited because it offered a lot more flexibility with how i wanted my planets to turn out and not the high PQ being the end all stat like it was in Gal Civ 1.
Now I'm on the forums and find out that PQ still affects your max pop NOT food. Though food can impact it, frequently its your PQ especially on lower PQ worlds that caps your population cap.
I don't believe PQ should affect your population cap at all as it says in the manual. Let the tiles impact this via farming and technology.
Is this just a mistake made in the manual or something the developers plan on fixing?
