Bug: a few things not yet fixed

I am still seeing the bug where upgraded designs result in new + all old versions being displayed. There is no way to delete these old designs in game. If you build the newest version of the upgraded ship, it still builds the oldest version.

There are bugs in the ship building screen where if you select an item then remove it, as soon as you select another item, the first item reappears on the ship. Also, the end of the ship item box contains "artifacts" that are not really on the ship. This occurs consistently.

I am still being annoyed by some planets maintaining a very low approval rate even if they are nearly the same (buildings, size, upgrades, population, etc) as another planet that maintains a much higher approval rate. This can be as much as 40% vs. 100% variance there. I have 2 approval buildings with several grades of improvments, and adding new doesn't help. Even trade goods and super and galatic achv don't help much more than a very small amount. Something that is supposed to add a 20% improvement is lucky to add 2%. After a few turns, it drops back to where it was before. This is a very irritating thing.

This isn't a bug per se, but a counter-intuitive way that morale/approval works.

If you build something that adds 20% to morale, it doesn't add a flat 20% to the planet's approval.

Instead it adds 20% of Base Morale... what's Base Morale, you ask? Base Morale is the Morale after adjustment for population. Say you have about 20 billion people on the world. If I remember, the pop adjustment for that is something like -60%. So your Base Morale on that world is 100-60=40%. So building that +20% improvement will only improve approval on that world by 40%*20% or 8%.

It's very confusing until you understand how it works.

That first bug you mention is annoying. I have gotten around it by renaming all of my upgrades. I.E. if my first fighter was an F1 Bug, my upgraded version would be F1A Bug. This works well, although you need to add the step of adding a letter to the name when you save it.

Yeah, I constantly 'bump' up aganist these two and it's getting really annoying. Currently I have been doing exactly what Martimus said. (with a bit of a spin, but the same idea)

Yes, that makes sense and I understand. What I don't understand is how a planet with the same pop, quality, and buildings can have such a disparity in approval rating. Also, after that 8% is added, it drops steadily over the next few turns until the approval is back to where it was before. Bottom line is that there is no way to improve morale on these planets short of decreasing taxes, which would be ridiculous considering that the other 9 planets in my game are at 100% moral. It would be ideal to be able to adjust taxes on a per-planet basis as this is simply killing me. Frankly, it would be annoying to have to adjust every planets taxes.

IDEA: Actually, what would be great is if you had a govenor that adjusts taxes based on a set approval rate to maintain.
