First off, thanks for a great game. I've always been impressed by Star Dock's support of its products.
I've got a few questions about some things that may or may not be bugs:
1. The latest patch .008 broke my launcher. I can only start the program by clicking directly on the game .exe. Once my boxed copy arrives I won't be able to update my serial number.
2. The resource base info window causes a strange graphic effect. The graphics for any installed mining components cause large white boxes to appear that obscure most of the window. I'm running the game on a 1.5Ghz w/256 Megs of RAM, Windows ME, and a 256 Meg FX5200 Nvidia card.
3. If you move a ship into a square with a fleet with 0 move points and combine them into a new fleet, the new fleet has has the movement points of the arriving ship. You can exploit this to leapfrog a fleet across the map by adding ships with unused move points.
4. What is the status of captured trade goods? I've captured a number of planet's with trade goods on them. I can't decommision them, they don't show up as usable in the trade window, and as far as I can tell, I'm not getting the bonuses for them. If can't get the bonus for them, could you change it so i could at least destroy them and get the use of that tile back?
5. The same goes for captured Tech & Manufacturing Capitals. I can't decommision them and in my last game this prevented me from building my own on a planet that would have yielded a lot more research than the captured one.
6. The game won't let the player build multiple star bases within 3 squares of each other. In my last game the Torians had two Econ bases (not mining) within 2 squares of each other.
7. The United Planets war tax event taxed me even when not at war. Is this as intended? I fought a war, destroyed my opponent, and then after the war ended I still had to pay the tax.
