Enhancement Request: UI/font scaling

howdy

I have one main problem with GalCiv2 and that is its font size at higher resolutions, or more that it actually doesnt
offer the option to automatically scale up the UI and fonts so that it always has the same size.

I have pretty bad eyes and atm GalCiv2 is unplayable for me in 1600x1200 due to the small fonts

would be nice if u could work something out there and include this. thanks

I imagine they'd have to completely redo much of the interface since it's not designed for that. Besides, if you have trouble seeing you can simply play in a lower resolution.

yeh, that would be possible... but playing at 1024x768 just because of the font/UI size is ... let's just say:
You wouldn't shoot yourself in the head just because of headaches... or would You?

Dear God, yes, can we do something about the font size. Even at 1280x1024 it's hard to read. Very hard. Damn hard. If I were a young whipper-snapper I'd be playing Half-Life 2 (well, actually not because Steam/Valve sucks), but you get my point. But as I am a 50+ gamer, I'm stuck with these darn games you have to think about. And yes, before you ask, I'm using computer-glasses that I use for all my games.

PLEEEEASE....... think about what we can do beside shooting ourselves in the head as saw666 says....

Lately a lot of games came out that all have small fonts and no option to increase them

Like Dungeons & Dragons Online and Black & White 2 which are only playable at 1152x896 for
me due to the fonts. It's such a shame as an increase of the res would make the gfx look much
more crisp and fine.
