Espionage

How on Earth can i gather intelligence on minor races??? I keep searching for an espionage bar for a minor race but i can't find any. What am i missing here?

Also, i'm wondering what are the differences between the espionage levels and where can i see how much more do i have to spend to reach a specific intelligence level.

You cannot spy on minor races.

The more money you put into espionage the faster your infiltration occurs. More levels, more data. From planets to starbases and racial stuff.

The minimum you put in is just how fast you want it to progress.

So what happens if I stop putting money in espionage? Does my level drop or stay where it is?

It drops. You must maintain it. After all, you stop paying, you stop recieving.

Why can't you spy on minor races? Are they supposed to be immune or something? Or is it that they are too insignificant to bother? Ah well, i guess it doesn't matter that much.

I have also found out (the hard way) that you cannot break an alliance with a minor race.

Inability to acquire info on minors is a pet peeve of mine. There are several situations where you are told that espionage against a minor is needed, yet no ability to do so is provided. IMO the minor play a great enough part that we should be able to spy on them. Maybe all with one slider.

Also, when you have reached advanced level the espionage spending can be stopped accordiing to the game and according to my experience of getting stolen techs after terminating the expense

Minor Races aren't really important, and I've broken several alliances with 'em. Just refuse to act within the terms of alliance, and it breaks. Voila!

And frankly, if you're so concerned about Minor's... just crush the darn races.

Well, in Galciv 1 I've always propped the minors up- for trading partners, proxy wars, and to make sure the other races don't get their homeworlds (which are usually decent).

But I would like to be able to spy on them.

Oooh... since I don't play humans, oh well.

I do normally trade with minors, specifically techs. Especially ones I wouldn't trade to just anybody, since minors don't often attack me. Sometimes I cannot get the minors to fight my enemies through diplo, and that occurs when my enemy declares war on the minor. Minors aren't good with ships either, I gave 3 and they just sat there (when the Drengin's were oppressing them).
