Bear with me.
Ok I installed the game on my laptop at home where I have a fast cable connection. It's on an external HD. I then took my HD up to my cottage where I have my pc and a very slow and unreliable 56k connection.
I figured it would be a fine connection for downloading the updates...but I screwed up. I didn't realise I would have to archive the game because Stardock on my PC does not know that I now have GCII moved from the external to the HD on my PC.
I also didn't realise SD was going to actually INSTALL the game via registry info and such...I thought it was going to remain compressed which I would have preffered.
I am now downloading the initial install again but via my slow PC which will be done I assume some time today if the modem doesn't kick (bad ISP up there, will check later today)
Is there a way to combine the install I am now downloading and the extra packs. Better yet is there an easy way to let the PC know GCII is installed. I put the GalCiv2 directory in program files and was hoping to just have to download the last 5%....anyway to let SD know it's there? If not is there a way to pull files from that directory and put into the new one that will be installed now that I'm downloading the updated install so that I don't have to download the Tutorials, Movies, Multimedia sections again...that will take a week.
